ZETTLER introduces new 50A power relay for solar / EV charging applications with very small footprint.

Product announcement, April 2020.
The demand for switching higher currents and higher voltages on increasingly smaller footprint continues to grow, especially in Solar and EV charging applications. ZETTLER is following this trend by introducing its newest type of “New Energy” relays, the 50A AZSR143.
With a footprint of only 30.4mm x 15.9mm the AZSR143 closes the gap between the well-known AZSR131 and AZSR235/AZSR250.
The AZSR143 has a maximum UL/TUV switch rating of 50A@277VAC with 6K cycles. Other ratings include 43A@277VAC (85°C) and 33A@277VAC (105 C) with 30K cycles each and 50A@277VAC carry current with 50K cycles (on/off) at 20A. It features a 1.8mm contact gap, a 4500Vrms dielectric strength and a minimum holding power of 196mW.

Mainly designed for solar inverters, the AZSR143 is also well suited for for electric vehicle charging equipment.

ZETTLER introduces a number of new relays at 2018 Munich electronica

Focusing on solar, e-mobility and multiple other applications, ZETTLER Group will showcase various new relays at this year’s November electronica show in Munich, Germany.
The new AZEV116 and AZEV132 series are next-generation IEC mode 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging relays in development for release in 2019. These relays are designed to survive high momentary currents that may occur on short circuits, thus ensuring outstanding reliability without contact welding. The AZEV116/132 series will also feature a potential monitoring contact, as required by IEC62752:2016, making these types of relays ideally suited for EV and other applications demanding high security and safety demands.
The newly developed AZSR1160 is a 160 A extreme high-power PCB Solar Relay, designed for PV applications of up to 36,8 kVA (single phase 230 VAC) / 111 kVA (three phase 400 VAC) – a highly attractive, small footprint substitute for conventional contactors. This relay is suitable for large commercial / rooftop-based PV systems and commercial solar fields.
AZSR190 is a 90 A high-power PCB relay for solar inverters. Developed for PV applications of up to 23 kVA (single phase 230 VAC) / 69 kVA (three phase 400 VAC) this relay is well suited for medium sized to larger roof top-based / commercial systems.
AZSR165 is a 65 A economy version of the new AZSR190 series. Developed for PV applications of up to 18,4 kVA (single phase 230 VAC) / 55 kVA (three phase 400 VAC) this relay is well suited for medium sized to larger roof top-based / commercial systems. ZETTLER recently also adapted this relay for a DC-side solar battery storage application, supporting a major industry player in clean home-energy solutions.
ZETTLERs AZSR131 was initially designed as a solar relay for residential and small roof top-based PV systems of up to 8 kVA (single phase 230 VAC) / 24 kVA (three phase 400 VAC). While not a new relay, ZETTLER continues to find new application extensions for this relay beyond just PV solar inverters. AZSR131 is suitable for diverse applications such as heat-pump solutions and Electro Vehicle wall box charging units and is, therefore, rapidly becoming a multi-purpose relay.
AZDC6 is a 600VDC miniature relay for RSS (Rapid Shutting Down System) for Solar installations, scheduled for 2019 release. The compact size allows for a thinner design of certain RSS boxes, that are deployed as part of compliance with 2017 NEC 690.12.

American Zettler adds new products to its line-up of Solar Relays

October 17th, 2017 – The proliferation of the marketplace for solar inverters keeps forcing engineers to do more with less. Among other things, that means switching more current and higher voltages on increasingly smaller footprint dimensions. As a leader in the development of relays for solar inverter applications, Zettler Group continues to step up to the challenge, now adding the AZSR165 and the AZSR190 series to its AC solar relay line-up.
With a footprint of only 38mm x 33mm, the AZSR165 and AZSR190 bring high capacity switching into a compact PCB package.
The AZSR165 has a maximum UL switch rating of 80A@540VAC and a TUV rating of 80A@690VAC. It features a 3.0mm contact gap, a 4,000 Vrms dielectric strength, and a minimum holding power of only 350mW.
The AZSR190 has a maximum UL and TUV switch rating of 100A@480VAC. It can also be used in higher voltage applications with an ability to switch 55A at up to 800VAC.
The AZSR190 has a contact gap of 3.6mm and a dielectric strength of 5,000 Vrms. Both relays’ regulatory ratings are at 85 C operating ambient temperature.
In addition to solar inverters, the AZSR165 and AZSR190 are also suited for electric vehicle charging equipment as well as for applications in industrial lighting.
Innovation in component design is how Zettler is leading the field for the applications of tomorrow.

Zettler Group E-mobility Solutions

emobNovember 8th, 2016 – The Zettler Group published a new product PDF outlining its ongoing development work and product offerings in electromechanical relays for e-mobility applications. Zettler’s early pioneering expertise in relays for solar inverters has provided the technical foundation for the creation of next-generation relays in the e-mobility/electric vehicle charging space.
The E-mobility PDF was recently also prominently featured in the industry-leading AltEnergyMagazine publication.
Taking into account both IEC61851 and SAE J1772, Zettler’s relays meet the requirements of most global markets. Integrating proprietary technology, our relays can handle switching loads of up to 80A of AC voltage (DC load relays are coming soon) covering SAE level 1 and 2 chargers and IEC mode 1, 2, and 3 chargers. Many relays feature a lower-rated normally closed contact for monitoring circuits, too. For in-cable and in-box chargers, Zettler has a solution for almost every need.
In addition to American Zettler’s traditional core of relay products, the E-mobility guide also illustrates current sensing solutions from Zettler Magnetics and LCDs from AZ Displays, Zettler Group’s display division.
