American Zettler Power Relays – Component Solutions for Pool Pump and Spa Control Applications

AZ21501Relays are at the core of control boards for the pool pump and spa industry. Not only do they switch the pump itself, but also heaters, chlorinators, lights, and audio/visual equipment.

It is therefore no surprise that American Zettler’s wide range of power relays is highly relevant for these kinds of applications.

One of the top players in the pool pump and flow control industry recently needed a fast and reliable replacement for a competitive relay that was being obsoleted. They were looking for a high level of product reliability and competitive pricing.

American Zettler’s miniature power relay was the perfect answer for this replacement project and was quickly chosen as the winning design. The relay comes in 3 contact forms, features a 50 A switching capability and very low cost per switched power.

American Zettler AZ2800 and AZ2850 relays post top-of-the-market 40A rating

az2800prAugust 8th, 2016 – American Zettler recently unveiled a new 40A contact rating for the AZ2800 and AZ2850 series of relays aimed squarely at the burgeoning EVSE marketplace. These double pole relays have long been known as HVAC switches, and most commonly found in compressor and heating circuits. Now, the AZ2800 and AZ2850 have found a new home in Level 1 and Level 2 chargers for electric vehicles.
The newly acquired 40A@277VAC rating meets the requirements of UL2202 Level 2 charging with branch circuit protection. Coming in both panel mount (AZ2800) and PCB (AZ2850) configurations, the relays are ideally suited to portable and fixed EVSE units. DPST-NO and DPDT versions are available. Lower capacity (3A) NC contacts can be used as part of a contact position monitoring circuit.
Pricing of the AZ2800 and AZ2850 starts under $4.00 (DPST-NO, DC coil) for quantities of 10,000. Samples and pricing are available on request. Full specs can be downloaded at https://www.azettler.com/electromechanical-relay/az2800/ and https://www.azettler.com/electromechanical-relay/az2850/. Miniature Power Relays – Reduce Energy Consumption and Product Cost

AZ7555

December 2, 2015 – A new line of 15 to 20 Amp relays for appliance, energy management, motor control, and lighting applications is being introduced by American Zettler, the North American relay division of Zettler Group of Aliso Viejo, CA.
AZ7555 Power Relays consume one-sixth the energy of conventional 5 mm pin general purpose relays and cost 20 to 30% less than equivalent latching relays with superior functionality because they guarantee fail-on/off without additional circuitry.  Featuring standard, sensitive, and super sensitive versions, the power consumption at pickup (typical) is 67.5 mW for the super sensitive version.
Available with SPST (1 Form A) and SPDT (1 Form C) contacts, AZ7555 Power Relays have silver tin oxide contacts and are suitable for applications from 3 to 110 VDC with continuous power dissipation (max.) of 1.2 W @ 68°F, 0.9 W, and 0.2 W respectively. Dielectric strength is 5000 Vrms between coil and contact, plus the relays have 10 kV surge resistance. Class F insulation and epoxy sealing are offered.

Lighting remains “a bright spot” with new ballast ratings on American Zettler relays

March 26, 2014 – American Zettler is continuing to make 2014 a defining year by announcing a host of new ratings on relays targeted at the lighting industry. Zettler established a trend when founder Alois Zettler orchestrated the first outdoor lighting show for King Ludwig II in 1884. Coupling his light show with music, he created a new future for entertainment.. and lighting! With a lighting resume that dates back more than a century, it should come as no surprise that even today, American Zettler remains on the forefront of relay design for the industry.
Responding to customer demands and the requirements from an ever changing industry, AZ has not only improved ratings on relay industry mainstays, like the AZ2150, but we have also accelerated the development of new relays including the AZ2501L. Here is just a taste of what’s new:
2150
AZ2150: 20A@120/277VAC (NO contact),
magnetic ballast

932
AZ932: 8.3A@120VAC,
3.8A@277VAC (NC contact), electronic ballast, 16A@347VAC for magnetic ballasts
az2501l

AZ2501L: 16A @ 277 VAC (NO contact) for electronic ballasts and
20A @ 277 VAC for magnetic ballast.
